And now...
I'm officially entering the job market. I've been told that it's important to make sure there isn't a gap in my resume between finishing school and my first job, so I've found a solution. How do I make this intermission in my life as productive as possible?
After looking at possible companies I could apply to (for advertising, art direction, graphic design, marketing, and anything creative), I’ve gathered all the requirements and skills that I need to work on to increase my chances. And that’s what I’m going to do.
My goals:
- Master Flash and Dreamweaver (and HTML)
- Make an online portfolio
- Learn about Quark Xpress and After Effects (since I don’t have the actual programs on my laptop)
- Continue my t-shirt designs (I love hand-painting t-shirts)
- Do some community service in India (we’re going there for a month in Feb)
- Finalize my portfolio book
I have the urge to say I don’t know how much of that I will actually complete, but after this time I’m never going to say that again!!
New Years resolution: check.
Awesome Neela, I'm sure you'll finish all those goals!
ReplyDeleteAww thank you Riya :)
ReplyDeleteI am with you on goal number 1 girl! May I say, from my experience, you can possibly scrap Quark Xpress - I first started with Quark 3 back in the day and as soon as Adobe Creative Suite came in, I haven't had to use it once! (around 7 years now...) Unless there is something I don't know... Could Quark be making a comeback??
ReplyDeleteOh wow that's interesting! In that case, I have more time to tackle the other programs! But I figured I should at least acquaint myself with Quark for the time being :)
ReplyDeleteThats a great Idea to fill out the intermission.
